When a customer redeems their discount, you collect the card, reactivate it using the SmallGyfts app then give to your next customer. Each card can be reused hundreds of times.

How do donation credits work?
Buy credits to activate the community referral feature. When customers connect your card to a cause they care about, that community starts hearing your name. Here's how it works:
✓ You buy $100 in credits (costs you $115 with 15% fee on Pay-as-You-Go tier)
✓ You send an email with a $20 donation reward (link)
✓ Customer clicks the link, redeems, and directs the $20 donation to their church
✓ $20 moves from your credit account to the church
✓ You have $80 in credits remaining
Credits never expire. If you decide to stop using the donation feature, any unused credits are fully refundable.
Do I need the donation feature or can I just use the discount cards?
You can use SmallGyfts either way:

Can I get a refund on unused credits?
Yes. Donation credits that haven't been redeemed by customers are 100% refundable. Just request a refund through your account dashboard and we'll process it within 5 business days.
Physical cards are non-refundable (we've printed them for you), but they're reusable forever so there's no waste.
Is there a setup fee?
No. Free to create your account, free to design your cards, free to set up your business profile. You only pay when you order physical cards or add the community donation feature.
How do I record payments to SmallGyfts in my bookkeeping?Payments to SmallGyfts are recorded as marketing or advertising expenses, the same category you use for Google Ads or Angi. Simply categorize all payments as marketing expense. It's fully tax-deductible as an ordinary business expense.
How do you handle the money going to nonprofits and local causes?
We handle everything:
1) Monthly payments to causes when they reach a balance of $100 or more
2) All tax reporting (1099-MISC forms for causes receiving $600+)
3) Payment processing and security
SmallGyfts handles all tax reporting and 1099 forms for local causes. Businesses simply purchase credits from SmallGyfts and deduct it as a marketing expense. If a cause receives over $600 in donations during a calendar year, SmallGyfts issues them a 1099-MISC.
